This was my first contribution to 'PakjeKunst' an national art project, where old cigarette machines are filled with packs of art from local artists. I made twenty of them.

I did a bit of searching and I found this dated from 2013 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-22152126

It seems there are such machines in the uk, but unfortunantly its a case of having to go hunting for them.

I wonder if there is a UK version of this, I absolutely love the concept.

You put in 4 euros for a package. 3 euros go to the artist, 1 is for the organization.

Ah, I would if I could. I would like to, but I dont have the funds, network or the energy to do something like this.

Im not an organiser. It exhausts me just thinking about something like that.

Way back in 2001 when I first got into mail art and penpal swapping, I got to know about some interesting arty webpages and websites and also some interesting art experiments that were open to participants at the time.

One of these interesting things were art vending machines. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art-o-mat

There was/is still a website https://www.artomat.org/

As a Brit, I am quite envious that these machines are easier to find in the States. I dont think the idea truely hit it off in the UK, Im sure there will be an art gallery or hipster type of shop or hang out that will have something like it in the UK, but I dont exactly live in a place that is "happening" for interesting stuff like this.

I wish it was though.
