They say, "If you can remember the '60s, you weren't there." Well, the '70s was my '60s (slow learner). But I'd say it took me a couple of months. No hurry. Next time I take that walk I want to go with a band of merry pranksters. Hehe ...

Comment by Valentine Mark Herman on April 22, 2014 at 6:55pm: Great! Piet has a major contemporary art gallery at Hameau du Lac, about 5 miles from where I live. I went to a vernissage there the weekend before last. Piet is very old now, and recently celebrated his 80th birthday. He is not in good health. His daughter runs the Gallery on his behalf, but he can still be seen there from time to time.

He recently had a video made about his life, including lots of footage of him and his van at Port-la-POUBELLE Nouvelle. He didn't paint tulips, alas, but I did. That's a very clever collage you put together: Bravo!

In the mid-70's, I was tecahing at a University in the UK, and don't remember where I was holidaying -- but not in this part of France.

Barcelona to Pisa is a heck of a long walk: how long did it take you?
