Why I am involved in Mail-Art:: We wish to start a new mail art project for 2014

Depuis 1999, l'asbl "le Crabe" a concrétisé 4 projets de Mail Art et organisé 4 expositions des oeuvres reçues.

Les thèmes abordés par ces projets ont été les suivants :

1999 : le crabe

2000 : les sorcières

2003 : "Métissart"- 5 thèmes : bébés, chapeaux, victuailles, rêve et eau

2009 : ¡¿ culture ?!

Ces diverses initiatives ont suscité l'envoi de 180 à 270 créations issues d'une trentaine de pays différents de par le monde.

Pour l'année 2014, l'asbl initie un nouveau projet au titre évocateur "Femails and Art".

Elle souhaite, par ce biais, mettre en exergue le rôle que jouent et qu'ont joué les femmes dans le monde artistique.

Les envois seront exhibés en mars 2014 dans le cadre d'une exposition intitulée "singulières, féministes et plurielles".

L'asbl espère que cette 5ème initiative inspirera de nombreux artistes qui, par leur collaboration massive, démontreront leur intérêt tant pour le thème choisi que pour ce mode d'expression.

Since 1999, "the Crab" has achieved 4 Mail Art International projects and organized 4 exhibitions of the works received.

The thema of these projects were :

1999 : the crab

2000 : the witches

2003 : "Métissart"-5 thema : babies, hats, food, dream and water

2009 : ¡¿ culture ?!.

Those different initiatives have ensured the sending of 180 to 270 works koming from 30 countries around the world.

For 2014, the association is launching a new project with colored title "Femails and Art".

The association wish, by this way, point the role that women play and have played in the artistic field.

The works received will be showed in March 2014 for an exhibition entitled "singular, feminist and plural".

The association hopes that its 5th initiative will inspire many artists who will demonstrate, by their contribution, their deep interest as well in the thema as in the way of artistic expression.
