Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I began doing mail art in college with my friends. It was fun to get postcards in the mail when we were at home during the holidays. As we got older, we stopped exchanging mail. Later, I started making greeting cards and eventually taught myself to make pop up cards. I send them out to friends and family, but it is a one way street. I am excited about joining IUOMA so that I can participate in an exchange with other artists.
My Mail-Adress (snail and/or E-mail)
I had to close my PO BOX. Ping me if you want to exchange mail art and I will get you my new address. Thanks!

I'd love to do a mail exchange. I like working with themes or parameters. Do you have any you are particularly interested in? and what format?

  • Regan Shrumm

Beautiful paper art. Let's exchange art!

  • Hi Denise, after you've added/uploaded photo.. you'll see the pics on the left and info boxes next to them on the right before you save.. where it says title (it probably has numbers from how its stored on your computer) put the curser there and delete that info and add what you'd like to call it... Hope that helps!

I just received both pieces of your mail art this week. I spent a good half an hour deciphering your code. It made for an enjoyable morning. Also your paper work is so amazing. My "Regan" card is sitting on my desk for all my co-horts to see and be jealous of! I'll make sure to return the favour by mail soon!

Once again, Denise, you have outdone yourself! I love the Japanese woodblock inspired box! Should I use your wonderful stickers to decorate my own mail?

Hi Denise...thank you so much for the awesome falling snowflake Christmas card...and the cute tag....these little cutouts are so nice...have a great New Year!

  • Bumblebee Cee

Hi Denise -  'L'abeille' was/is the first piece of mail art I received and I am thrilled with the beautiful bee  ATC treasure I found inside.

Thanks so much for that and many apologies for the long overdue post/response; I will get something in the mail to your shortly.

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Denise, I received my wonderful name pop-up yesterday, along with the "word house." I think you are insanely clever -- the name pop-up is especially something I will treasure! Of course! And the little puff of cotton coming from the chimney of the house! Thanks so very much!
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Denise, the turtle quad jam is up on the Jammer's page!

  • Grace Sanford

Hi Denise :-)  Thank you very much for sending me such a nice note and your lovely pop-up "Bluebird's Song." I'd be excited too about creating something so cool as a pop-up book of haiku. I hope I'll get to see the final form of the book. I'm very glad you will enjoy all the different kinds of art I will send, though, of course, my main Modus operandi is geometric abstract.

  • Bumblebee Cee

Denise, I am delighted with the ATC and beautiful pop-up card. Always the gal who will never find her name on the racks of any personalized gadgets, the pop up of my name puts a big ass smile on my face. It's so freakin's awesome.

Mail is en route to you...

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

I just left a comment for you but stupidly put one of those emoticons on it and I think the NING rejects those -- anyway, what it said was, My last mail art to you was NIXIED! so I'm putting it back in the mail on Monday, only 3 weeks later.....sigh. Just want you to know I haven't forgotten you! Here's a homemade emoticon like we used to make--take that, NING! ;->
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Wow, Denise. Just got your gorgeous little book. Thank you so much. So complex, so beautiful! I love the tiny envelope with the cut feathers inside. And what a lovely "real" feather attached! I really admire your work, so finely crafted. And thanks for the pre-scored tunnel book bindings. I will see if I can figure it out but if I can't (as is likely) I'll ask you for some guidance. I'd like to puzzle with it for a bit first. ;->
  • stripygoose

Thank you Denise. What a wonderful envelope of goodies and those feathers are beautiful. So precise and effective. A real treat. I'm pleased to hear that the birds arrived safe and sound. Thank you so much for being part of the project. I'm blogging the birds here: bird arrivals blog

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Hi Denise -- thanks for the nice note, envelope (from calendar page!) and gorgeous ATC. I love everything about this ATC, the background, the silver leaves, the butterfly sticker, the little 3D fairy, and best of all the tape transfer. I don't know how to do that -- but I want to learn. Thank goodness for Google and Youtube! Very nice artistamp on the inside of your note, too!

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

    Denise, you've been blogged!

  • Yayoi S.W.

Thanks, Denise. My snail mail is on your way!

Denise what a marvelous package of Mail Art from you! I LOVE the little book you made -- I immediately examined it to see how it was done--I'll try it soon! and the very lovely ATC's, too. The "Heart Following Experiment" is so delicate and simple. I really like it. And of course the wonderful bicyling man! Very nice notepaper and envelope, too! You set the bar very high, my dear!
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

i will check that book out!
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Wow, Denise, you keep out-doing yourself. The book you sent me is spectacular! Thanks so much!
  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

    Denise, you've been blogged!

  • Toni Hanner -- tonipoet

Hi Denise -- I'm glad you starting making art again! Thank you so much for the fabulous ATC. It is a little different for you, but still has your trademark imagination and precision. And I love the little bits that came with it!

  • Amy Irwen
