I love to create things - but even more than that I like to share the things I make. I love the inspiration that comes from receiving art from others, and nothing beats the experience of holding actual art (as opposed to just looking at electronic images, say). I like having 'treats' to look forward to - and receiving mail art is a big treat for me. I get huge joy from imagining how my art is travelling, and how it will be received when it arrives. It makes me smile.

Hi! Thanks for the compliment on my bunny skull and doll. I've got to make more things because my brain is about to explode with so many ideas. Await your art.
...so, I just looked up Hilton - my brother-in-law is from Pietermaritzburg. He left for Syracuse (New York US) University in the md 1970s...small world....
Hi Petrolpetal, Thanks for the beautiful little artsy envelope (love the colors) & cut-out person inside. So fun to get mail from South Africa! I can't see the postmark so not sure how long it takes from there to here (Northern California) but it arrived on Jan. 17. I'll figure out what to send back today (-:
There is a whole set of Greek dancers on the postage stamps, but they were in circulation several years ago (2002), so they may be out of print. I'll check and send you the set if they have it, the next time I am in the central post office downtown.
Something is in the mail already to you with two stamps of the girls dancing,
it's the 45 cents stamp. This stamp has been reprinted because the overseas postage has gone up o 90 cents, so now mail needs two of these.
Thanks so much for your mail art! I love the tiger image as it is my zodiac! And the intriguing red cut out. Thanks also for the artistamp! So so happy.
Hi Petrolpetal--Your fanciful envelope reached me today--that's about 12 days of travel--not bad for 17,294 Km or 10,746 miles! Thank you for the cut-out insert, it will find its way into more mail art. It will be added to my IUOMA photo stream and will be blogged soon at http://decordisart.blogspot.com/
Mail art will be coming your way within the next 4-6 weeks.
Hello, and thank you! I think that it would be great to exchange some mail art with you. At the moment I am working on a couple of pieces, so perhaps I'll send one your way..
I received a package from you... quite wonderful! The first mail art I've received. I would like to put something together and send you something back - my address isn't permanent enough and I'm planning on getting a P.O. Box. Until then I'll find a way to photograph what you've sent me !
hope you are well. I had my first session working with some young people from Hartlepool on Monday. It was a consultation session to find out about the group and see what they may be interested in. You were one of the artists chosen by a young people to send work to, so I hope you receive it soon! I am interested in the social history, how the women worked in the munitions factory making the shells to fire in the guns, which were then converted into trench art!
If you are interested you are welcome to follow the blog
İ send one piece for you last week but it came back to me in a very comical way. The postman brought it back saying "Miss Dorina you have a mail" . İ was so happy ,"Really ??" i said. And he gave my own post card adressed to you . İt didn't even go out from the island, because i wrote the expeditor under your adress and he made a stupid confusion . :)) Sorry, my mail will come later .
No! Cara Amica! nessun spavento... non avevo capito... non sò la lingua inglese e adopero il il traduttore on line... tutto ok! :-) :-) ti abbraccio con affetto , bruno
