Awww, I want TWO of those waffle hearts!

These are lovely cards. Thank you for posting them here, Katerina!

  • Fleur Helsingor

And here it is, a "heart waffle" card from Katerina! A tasty treat indeed.

I also received a lovely Greek Blue winter greeting card from Katerina. Thank you!

  • Fleur Helsingor

Here's a second winter greeting card from Katerina. I love the "lemon sun!"

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Happy Spring! Thanks for posting the PINK, Fleur. It was sent out in early March, before our Greek lock down, so I am happy to see it arrived ok!

Jon Matson has many disguises.  He is here cheering us up in the Corona Season, with a collegue. Unfortunately not my postmen.

My Kevin, although very cheerful always and willing to participate in Mail Art photos, do not done fancy dress.

  • Fleur Helsingor

What a wonderful idea! He's so cute!!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Thanks, Fleur, BOTH have arrived!

cannot mail from Greece to the States :-(

    Stay well, stay safe xxx

  • Fleur Helsingor

What a lovely card and I wish that I could see it in person. It's so strange that I can send mail to Greece but cannot receive any mail from Greece.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thank you, Fleur, your "classic" arrived:

and by 15 May we were allowed to sent mail to the USA,

so hopefully, soon it will arrive?

SPRING mail art from Judy Staroscik:

  • Fleur Helsingor

I went to the post office on Friday, June 5th, and there was a lot of mail art in my box! This lovely springtime rose from Katerina Nikoltsou was one of the pieces that I received that day.

Thanks, Katerina! I'll be putting a colorful card in the mail to you on Monday, June 8th. I've checked, and it looks like the Greek postal service is accepting mail from the U.S.A.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Postal services are working from/to Greece and from/to USA! yay!

However...very slooooow. Wait and be patient :-)

Glad to see the flower arrived, Fleur.

Beautiful Peacock BLUE for Summer Seasonal Mail Art:

    Thank you so much, Fleur!

  • Fleur Helsingor

This store is closed due to the COVID-19 shelter-in-place order in my city, and the windows are boarded up. I went to this artist's website, and found that he has been painting murals on a bunch of boarded up buildings in Oakland. He specializes in wildlife and I know of murals featuring a crow and a toucan as well as this one with a gorgeous blue peacock. I love his work!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Beautiful art work, thanks for sending it, Fleur!

    Stay safe during "Covid Season"

    TIME to wear a mask!

    Autumn Season mail art...

Wishes for a fast recovery, Fleur!

  • Fleur Helsingor

Thank you, Katerina. That's a lovely card!

For those of you who might not know: on Monday, November 9th, I was doing household errands and getting ready for another week of making mail art. I have a lot of projects and mail to art to respond to, with many ideas in mind.

However, when I was walking home from the grocery store that afternoon, I tripped on a bad piece of pavement and broke my leg. I had to go to the hospital for orthopedic surgery.

They were able to rebuild my leg and hip without the need for a cast. However, I'm facing a long recovery and it will be a while before I'll have enough energy to make mail art.

Feel free to send anything that you like. Just be aware that it might take a few weeks for me to respond.

    Cheers to you all.

  • Mail Art Martha

Dear Fleur; I knew something was wrong because your last beautiful card has no handwritten message, I am so sorry, that was a nasty fall.
I hope this reaches you as I have bad problems in this site and only this one. I cannot see any pictures!
My list of friends has disappeared too.
Of course I shall keep sending you the Foldilope. I am preparing one now. Do relax and get well soon.
  • Fleur Helsingor

    Hello Martha,

I'll look forward to the next Foldilope. I know that it will help to cheer me up!

I am getting better and am looking forward to getting back to my art table. I have some new ideas, which is always a good sign. My main problem is that I cannot sit for longer than half an hour. Standing and lying down is no problem, but sitting is painful. I guess that's because of where the fracture happened.

I hope that your problems with this site get resolved. I haven't spent much time here but I haven't noticed any problems.

Take care, Martha and everyone else. Stay safe.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Take time to rest and heal carefully, Fleur.

With my steel back brace, I cannot sit very long either,

so most of my mail art is made while reclining in bed with a "wedge" pillow,

or more often now , I do it standing at a high counter in the kitchen...

    Stand Tall :-)

Take care and stay safe everyone!

  • Fleur Helsingor

I'm really glad to be able to stand. This morning I was able to walk normally --- though slowly ---  without the need for my cane or my walker. I'm able to do laundry and wash the dishes quite easily.

I hope that my problems with sitting will resolve themselves when the stitches across my hip joint finally dissolve. If I'm still having problems, I'll get a wedge pillow. Thank for you for the tip, Katerina.

In the meantime, I have some ideas for fun new art pieces and I'm looking forward to getting back to work.

  • Ilya Semenenko-Basin

Dear Fleur, from the bottom of my heart I wish you recovery from your illness! Your Ilya

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

It is my "royal throne" these past three months :-)

    Keeps my back very straight,

and helps my legs when I am flat...

  • Fleur Helsingor

Those pillows are great! I should probably get one anyway since I still spend most of my time in bed. I'll send Andrew to the store ......

Thank you for your good wishes, Ilya. Your beautiful card has arrived and I'm looking forward to sending you something as soon as I can.

  • Fleur Helsingor

I forgot to mention this: your wonderful mail art has also arrived, Katerina. Andrew has been picking up my mail and it was waiting for me when I got home from the hospital on November 11th. Thank you, too!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

All the best, Fleur, heal well!

And it is TIME for the Holiday Season:

  • Fleur Helsingor

    That's lovely, Katerina!

Indeed, the holidays are here. A good time to shelter in place, stay safe, and make art (if you're able).

  • Fleur Helsingor

As promised, here are the two cards that I received from Katerina in November. Summer and Autumn greetings!

    Thank you!

The Winter jasmine in flower, not short of water this winter.

  • Fleur Helsingor

    That's lovely, Katerina!

I planted a winter-flowering jasmine at our previous home and I miss it sometimes. It was so fragrant.

At our current apartment complex, there are a bunch of star jasmine plantings in the courtyard. I'll look forward to their blossoms in May.

  • Mail Art Martha

My winter jasmin does not smell of anything! the spring ones which are white do.  I love them but they do not seem to like my garden, I think  not enough sun.
