I had to join to tell you what my postperson, Kevin, say to me yesterday. We were talking about the selling of our Royal Mail and what consequences it would have for him and he said ' I am very grateful for you people' when  handing me a lot of brochures and some Mail Art . He thinks we will be the only ones to keep the postal wheels turning, as it were.

I shall try to get a photo but he is not easy to catch.

A Finnish postage stamp designed by Susanna Rummu and Ari Lakaniemi has been voted Europe’s most beautiful postmark by a panel of judges. Issued in May, the stamp depicts postal workers standing with their 1933 Volvo postal van.

This is my favorite of our mail carriers and the one who we have most often.  To relieve their boredom, they are moved around from time to time and, also, we get other carriers on the main carrier's days off.  This man, An, is always so friendly and kind and has often remarked on the mail art I send and receive.  When I told him I wanted a photo of him for a mail art group I'm in, he laughed and laughed and said okay. ;)  His name is the same as mine, by the way - "Ping An de An" as people say in Chinese.  The syllable An can mean many different things so, when someone tells you their name you ask them which meaning their name has.  "Ping An de An?" means, the same An as in Ping An?  (Ping An means "safety, quietude, peaceful, in safety, in one piece" - An on its own means peace generally speaking but, without something else with it, it's too general to use in conversation) .
