3D Pen Art

In the last years the 3D pen has been added to the assortiment for the mail-artists. I've been using them now for a few years and integrated them into my artwork and also mail-art sendings. Just wondered if there are others out there that use the 3D pen or even 3D printed in their mail-art?

Are there more mail-artists using the 3D pen, or am I the only one?

Seems like there is no-one out there yet using a 3D pen, or am I wrong. They have become cheap, so you should give it a try.......Continue

At College we also have 3D printers, but there the computer has the controm. You only have to supply him with a digital (3D) image, and the 3D printed makes it for you (when the techniques don't fail us).

With the 3D pen, the controls are back into your own hands again.A steady hand helps, but you are drawing with liquid plastic that gets hard in a few seconds. So that gives a range of possibilities we have to discover.

Okay, so this is my new obsession. Son-in-law working on 3D printing for his work (geek man computer guy making parts) but the pens are ... oh how can we say Fabulous, or Wonderful, or Awesome without using stupid words. Thesaurus !!! Come to my aid!! I'm struck dumb by the possibilities and me losing words is like Niagara losing its falls....

I gave 2 workshops yesterday at a College in Breda where teachers were taught how to use the new tools.  I also demonstrated how you can make your own glasses, and off course can wear them.

The teachers were active and I had arranged that everyone could acces their own 3D pen and could experiment with that. Brought some nice surprises and also creations. We will see if the College will start to use them in the several departments........
