Hello, everyone!

We are glad to annouce theme for March and it is

The Spring of Music

Please compose some Musical Mail Art (Music and/or Mail Art) with this theme in mind.

We can start exchanging it during the month of March...and then find another theme for April.

I hope that this will get our Group off to a good start.

Cheers,

MF

Bonsoir Tina!

I suggest that you do both -- post here, and send your works to people.

I, for one, would like to exchange a Musical Spring peice with you.

My address is 1 rue de la Vieille Fontaine, F-11130 Sigean, France.

If enough folks in the Group would like to  xchange a a piece, we could have a Special Organised Mailing (I have experience with these), when everyone who 'signs up' for it exchanges a piece -- which can be the same or different ones -- to all other partcipants, on say 15 March -- which, coincidentally happens to be the ides of March.

Please let me know if you are interested in such a Mailing.

Regards, Val

I like this theme!!! I have started 2011 dedicating my cards to music!!!

One question:

Shall we only post our works here or can we exchange works???

Thank you

Tina

I'm a musician and do a LOT of music-related mail art! My musical training is in composition, and I use bits of my own music in my postcards and other mail art. Here's something that I sent out for a recent mail art call, "4 senses."

While I was thinking about what to make, I thought about how quite a few famous and successful musicians are blind, including Diane Schuur, Clarence Carter, Marcus Roberts, and George Shearing (who just passed away).

This mail art call came from a group in Russia that provides services to persons with disabilities, so I did a little bit of looking around to find a Russian-language Braille alphabet. The dots in the red and yellow squares spell out the Russian word for "music."
