I am very curious about this postcard that I found for a quarter at an antique shop in Clyde, OH.  On the back it says:  Verlag von Edm. von Konig, Heidelberg. Gas geschilist. 1910. Konigkarte 3352.

It is a fascinating card, but is Konig the photographer or the maker of the art on the walls?  Is this a studio?  Any help is much appreciated.  Theresa Williams

You are right, it does read "Ges" and then the next word is "geschutzt" (I am in a semi-dark room.)  Thank you, Erni.  So the paintings on the wall don't look familiar to you?  I like them.

I wondered if it might be a room in an asylum.
How interesting! But why would there be a prison at the university? What was going on historically or politically?
Yes and I found something on it too...that Twain mentions it in A TRAMP ABROAD__which I haven't read since college. Mystery solved...thanks so much, Erni!
