Here's an envelope that demonstrates some randomness; a virtue among sendsomething net users.
The already cancelled ARGENTINA Official stamp was subject to the dreaded 6-Bar "Killer" cancel from the USPS when the sorting machinery mistook it for the franking.
The actual franking postage was the recipient of the routing barcode with begins with the numeral destination zip code, 57732-0676, then machine-readable barcode at the "bottom". I doubt that the ARGENTINA Official stamp has any phosphorescent (or fluorescent) "tagging" that is read by machine to orient the mailing piece.

It's a matter of process.  This one is almost outside the ratio proscribed in the USPS DMM (Domestic Mail Manual) Section 201.3.7 which specifies a ratio of 1.3-2.5 (Length / Height).  I calculate it to be 1.318 or 1.32 which barely qualifies.  Perhaps it was too close for the automation to easily detect which is why I questioned the tagging as there's only one stamp which would be able to trigger UV light detection; the correct one applied to frank this piece.

It makes for a slight bit of novelty at the very least.  I should point out that also posted this week is the piece from Yayoi which arrived with stamps uncancelled!  More on that later.

01.04 20 (the date is purely coincidental) Sir Bradford,...just wanna say, I appreciate your insight, observations & fairly habitual commentary ---& I should add: it always seems to be mostly of the unique  & sophisticated  finer points variety...anyway,whenever I can figure out what it is you are talking about it's one of the reasons  I enjoy the I.U.O.M.A. so much.  SinCelery, Richard Canard

BTW, "S-2" is not the sender, that would be our own Patricia Landon.  "S2" refers to sendsomething <dot> net.
