The artist Jean-Francois Aillet invites you to collect your sample of sand from a moraine, from next to a waterfall or beside a river, along the shore of a lake or a stream, in a desert or on the border of an ocean. One should not, however, send him sand from a construction site. You are asked to document your collection of the material with a photo, taken as you are pouring the sand into a container. For an example, kindly visit his home page at www.aillet.com . English : http://www.aillet.com/traductions/anglais.htm
See you to take part in this international project.

So glad you've received the envelope - and happy that you might try making some artistamps. I look forward to your mail art in my mail box. :D

There ARE no stupid questions so don't worry about that at all. :D Mail art, here and in most situations, is whatever you decide to make it. The only 'rule' is that it comes through the postal system. So, postcards are sent a lot, as are decorated envelopes (sometimes with nothing inside), as are envelopes full of art (like ATCs (artist trading cards, which are 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size), artistamps/faux postage, or hand-made cards, or ephemera, visual poetry/vispo, lots of other things). If you google any of these terms, you will find lots about each on the web, including examples and images. But, also, here in IUOMA, you will find a lot of these things discussed. What I'm sending you is artistamps in a decorated envelope. Most often, I send out postcards but right now I am sending out a lot of artistamps. Anything you send me will be totally appropriate! :D
It's my pleasure Justene. My husband just took the mail to the post office this morning so we'll see how quickly it arrives in Corunna! :D I look forward to seeing your art as well.
"...and it seems a monster has been unleased!" It sounds impressive, very impressive, but extremely familiar to me. When the proper time arrives, ask your monster from within to get into an envelope where you are going to write the following address:
The Celestial Scribe
Av. Paraná, 1489 Apto. 1004
Curitiba-PR
82510-000
Brazil.
As soon as your monster comes face to face with mine, I let you know what happens by sending a mail artwork made by my own monster. That´s a celestial promise. I´m Patricio - The Celestial Scribe.
