The "military monument"  is a monument to the founders of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  The Motel 6 card is of a motel in St. Louis, Missouri, usa

Yep, these issues arise in our souls and elsewhere.

Look at what I said at the start of this Group

"What makes a Postcard Boring? I have given considerable thought as to what makes a Postcard Boring – or not – and would like to share my ideas with you. When confronted with a Boring Postcard, I ask myself a number of questions. First, why did a photographer want to make a Postcard of this subject? Second, why did some printer and some seller think they could make money from this Boring Postcard? Third, why did anyone buy this Boring Postcard? Fourth, what message – visual or verbal – did the sender of the Boring Postcard mean to convey? And fifth, what on earth did the recipient of the Boring Postcard make of the image?"

No, the Poniac 'Look!' is not based on one of David Stafford's images 5he might be able to identify the exact model perhaps?) but is a genuine postcards. Details as folllows

the Georgia Circle is a big field. It must be used for something sometimes I wonder what? ( Someshat surprisingly, there isn't a IUOMA member from Georgia to ask).

Thanks John. Where is the militarywar memorial from? The motel seems to be in the US because of the cars parked outside.

'Nostalgia, emptiness and loss' a good description of Boring Postcards.

These cards produce that intense sense of nostalgia and emptiness - or loss, perhaps, that is characteristic off the best of Boring Postcards
