Carolyn, you should educate yourself. This is a Finnish/Lappish road blockade, not dogs. ;-)

Sometimes they just stand on the road and won't move away. 

Psst, they are, Mark. In the city I lived they even had a Santa Claus village (but I didn't visit it). Did you know that the reindeers of Santa Claus must be all females? At Christmas time all the males already lost their antlers, only females still have some, because they lose them in spring. The antlers help them to have a better status in the group and get better food, when pregnant, to feed the calve in their womb with the best possible nutritions.

Thank you, too, Nancy. I really felt lucky and glad, every time I saw them. They are beautiful creatures and tame enough to let you come quite close. It fills my heart with joy to see such beautiful animals roam free and in peace.
