(*) Sapanca Lake, located along the route (flyway) of migratory birds, is an important wetland area providing shelter to a great many species of birds and allowing them to reproduce. According to a study conducted thereat by Sakarya University,

(http://www.fed.sakarya.edu.tr/arsiv/yayinlenmis_dergiler/2010_1/201...) more than one hundred thousands of birds belonging to 28 genera and 69 species from 12 orders are observed thereat.  Therefore, Sakarya Lake should definitely be safeguarded.
