Thanks for the wonderful mail.  Your cards were both amazing.  What medium did you use to get the outline of Madona and child?  I loved that the envelope had maps from the Washington State area.  Very cool.  Thanks again.

PIRO - I picked up your great mail today.  Thank you so much for the awesome envelope.  I LOVE all the texture and layering in your work. It is really inspiring.  I'll be posting something your way shortly.

Glad to hear it traveled with speed . . . I am a big fan of your work and wanted to tell you a story about that.

The first piece you sent me, I think it was in December and you had two pieces in there, both palette knife works . . . I had just finished working on a painting of my own, one in a series of "pulled and scraped" acrylic paintings that I have been slowly working on. The results of pulling looks very much like using a palette knife but instead I'm working an a slightly larger scale [than mail pieces] and am using a steel sheet to pull paint across the width of the paper with one stroke — but several layers go into each painting. Anyway, having come to the conclusion that that painting was finished, I put my paints away and went out to get the mail. There was the envelope from you which I open right away. Taking out the "green" piece, I was stunned and dumbfounded. It looked very much like the painting I had just finished — very, very much. Your palette colors are almost dead-on to mine. Your technique resembles what I have been doing. So brother, it was a happy chance that you sent me that when you did. Kismet? I don't know, but you did give me some insight into the work I had started. Thank you!
