I don't know how common it is, short-term or long-term.

That's the thing - a lot of visual poets, including you Moan Lisa, used colored text, letters, numbers.

The research suggests synaesthesia is connected to MEANING. So we might have color-coded language? That's where it gets hard to explain.

But I think you got it.

Welcome back, Moan Lisa.

I'm not a psychologist and grapheme-color synesthesia is beyond my ability to explain beyond what's on the blog. I know you have some limitations in terms of your ability to concentrate as well.

Grapheme-color synesthesia is a psychological condition that involves seeing words and numbers in color, where most people would see black and white and grey. There are additional associations as well.

My purpose was to point out how the use of color in visual poetry and asemics seems to be similar to  grapheme-color synesthesia. I tried to point the reader toward further academic research.

Here is a link that shows some examples of what someone experiencing grapheme-color synesthesia might see:

https://synesthesia.com/blog/index.php/grapheme-color-synesthesia-s...

Otherwise, I leave explaining to the psychologists among us.

You might be interested in my new AF piece "Asemic Writing and Grapheme-Colour Synaesthesia." (What? You likely ask). Grapheme-Colour Synaesthesia is the documented phenom of seeing ordinary words (b&w) and numbers in color. Ever notice how much asemic writing uses color? I found some interesting things.
