As explained on the back, this is a monotype Jokie did thirty years ago.  I really like it and find myself gazing at it all day.

      Let me see, the big hit of July 1986 was "Holding Back the Years" by Simply Red.  How appropriate! 

By the way, Simply Red is still touring and if you have not yet seen them, they are playing on 14 August 2016 at Betley Farm Festival in Betley, UK.  Let me know if you plan to be there!

     Thank you again Jokie & enjoy yourself on your trip to Alaska.  I'm sure it will inspire you.

I am happy that you like my piece. One thing I like about the monotype postcards is how the various chemicals react to one another. The linseed oil yellows with age. The Sharpie marker will eventually develop fuzzy edges from how it reacts with the aged oil. I like the odors. The colors remind me of when I was in college (1986), making the original prints, my whole life ahead of me, full of promise.
