Hi all! I posted this in the larger mail-art projects list, but figured I would share here too! I am organizing a queer mail art exchange and would love to have it form some global queer connections! If you’re interested, read more on this Google Doc and/or share with your queer mail artist friends!! 🏳️‍🌈💌 🏳️‍⚧️

Hullo hullo :)

Anyone from this group still active? Was hoping to start a group for LGBTQI+ correspondence artists, if there wasn't already an active one. Just checking to see if anyone on here would like to reactivate this group or start another more current one!

All the best

Hi everyone,

I'm Nicola and I'm from Italy but I'm currently moving a lot across Europe looking for some research opportunity at university.

I'm a micropaleontologist, a math and science teacher, a dreamer, a transgender man, a traveller and an explorer of world and life.

I will be more than happy to join your projects and if some of you want to receive some mail art from me just let me know.

Cheers,

Nick

i am pissed sad and feeling a wee bit hopeless ... Orlando was like the top layer of a HATE CAKE that has a Homophobic tier, a Misogynist tier, a Racism tier, a Slavery tier, a Corporate Greed tier, an Abelist tier, and of course a Fucked Up Out of Control Organized Religions tier. hmmm maybe you know a good recipe? Mix 2 lynchfuls of Trumpisms, 1 bible verse about sodomy & prostitution, 2 ounces of repressed sexuality and.....  i'm freaking out...

Sorry, I should be more clear. The USA is in a fucking mess. A lot of you are citizens of societies where most of the people are not infantile, certifiable nut-jobs. I bet I could start a group on this site inviting people who live in a country where anybody who wants to can carry around a frickin' machine gun and the only people who would sign up would be frickin' "Mericans." OK. Sorry.

Blessings to all of us -- what a fucking mess this country is in.

I humbly submit the image below "Embraced by Grace (For the Upstairs Lounge)" to send love and healing to the victims and loved ones of the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando Florida.  The only legacy I can think of at the moment, against terrorism, is love.  If anyone has (or had) LGBT loved ones and would like to share their stories via letters, photos and other scanned memorabilia I can be reached at mead815@yahoo.com  I am working on montages for this series tentatively titled "From Nostalgia Though Now and Beyond" as a way of paying homage to the international LGBT Civil Rights movement, especially prior to Stonewall, where so many lived "in the life" but unsung.  I see this as an ongoing series as I learn of new stories and imagine either gathering on a website such as Weebly. or published through CreateSpace, but I am open to ideas as to what presentation platform might work best.  I will of course also gladly share jpegs of what images I create with those thoughtful and generous enough to offer their stories.  Let us light a candle from one to another against all forms of hate and brutality.
