Long-Lost DKult Trashpo Artifact [Art-in-Fact] UNEARTHED!!

One of the saddest and MOST EMBARRASSING things that happened during my move in 2014 from the west coast US to the east coast US was the loss of a special DKult Trashpo mailing that was sent from MailArt Martha. She had taken such care with the package and REALLY SCORED A 10-POINT EXECUTION with this piece. I laughed and laughed when I originally received it and was amazed at the brilliant creativity of it...

…AND THEN I LOST IT IN THE HECTIC PROCESS OF MOVING.  (AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!)

I felt so awful and so terrible. I looked EVERYWHERE and finally figured it must've accidentally got thrown out while I was cleaning and packing and organizing for the big move (3,000 miles across country, mind you). It stunned me because I usually tried so diligently to keep all received mail art together in storage boxes, so they were all in one place. But somehow I must've set it aside separately in an attempt to segregate it for its special-ness and so I'd have it at the ready to document. But alas...

Then TODAY… while going through things and re-organizing IT WAS FOUND!

And so here now, with many apologies to Martha, is documented the Deluxe DKult Trashpo Strainer, a brilliant mail art[ifact] from 2014:

Thank goodness it is the Catholic Jubilee Year of Mercy… perhaps her highness, the Queen of Retailia will be able to forgive me the l-o-n-g lapse in presenting her art-ifact to the world! This story give new meaning to the urban myth of the "one lost sock." I am certain that the mysteries of DKult have brought it back from whatever dimension in which it was lost for all this time. Perhaps we should have the artifact carbon-dated to see if it has indeed passed through time and space...

BREAKING NEWS: Jack of Cascadia Artpost has invented a new DKult time measuring device that may be able to solve the puzzle of the one lost sock mystery… see this latest invention here or on the DKult group activity page.

The truth about the sock: I found it in a car park, picked it up with the amused approval of my husband who is used to my excentricities, in the presence of my daughter who was disgusted.

It is as found, the holes were already all there. My best ever trash.

Don't feel bad Thom, i fully understand. Recently we had to have all the carpets renovated, only that,  and I am still trying to find

a) a large pot of white acrylic paint,

b) two medium sized framed pictures,

c) the cat.

Perhaps the last emigrated.

The discovery of the lost sock truly is amazing. Did you know that Walmarth Cascadia has a whole bin of lost socks in its reclaimed apparel section of the store?

Too funny! Love how Martha made the sock authentic. Genius.

hmmm  very interesting that it turned up now, but glad it did!!  I am wowed to see that Martha of Walmarth and DKultUK has created a prototype for her invention! She thought of it one time when we were camping and needed tea to stay awake so we would not be eaten by bears. We didn't have any filters so she ingeniously  used a sock to make the best cup of Royal Typhoo Tea I have ever had. The sock filter gave it a lovely woodsy taste. Dkult had some time glitches due to the making of the fluxus clock. We got stock on Shark 35 for a few weeks and forgot this would affect all finely tuned in Dkulters.  It also resulted in a 3 day delay in scheduled shipping time. Another package mailed at the same time arrived 3 days sooner and yet had equal distance to travel.  I think our mistake is that we addressed it to "Cascadia Walmarth" and they were unable to located the Mega SuperSized Superstore.
