How to Make a Dadaist Poem
(method of Tristan Tzara)

To make a Dadaist poem:

  • Take a newspaper.
  • Take a pair of scissors.
  • Choose an article as long as you are planning to make your poem.
  • Cut out the article.
  • Then cut out each of the words that make up this article and put them in a bag.
  • Shake it gently.
  • Then take out the scraps one after the other in the order in which they left the bag.
  • Copy conscientiously.
  • The poem will be like you.
  • And here are you a writer, infinitely original and endowed with a sensibility that is charming though beyond the understanding of the vulgar.

Hi guys!  It's so great to see all the art posted in our group.  Every person seems to give their own twist to the Dada poems, it's fantastic!

@Katerina Nikoltsou, I've got your Greek Dada, Thank you! I've blogged about it here>> http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profiles/blogs/katerina-nikoltsou-dad...

@Helle Pollas, thanks for your poems as well!  You can find a blog post here>> http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profiles/blogs/helle-pollas-dada-poetry

@Richard Canard, that's a clever idea and I would love to see examples of it posted here :)
