from the top of my head I think over egged could mean to have too many good things, like a good cake with lots of eggs?  or could mean too rich and sick making?

Clearly Rebecca is harboring fugitives at a chicken farm

(corrected typos)

That is spectacular, Martha. Many thanks. This will help those who are fortunate enough to receive Rebecca's art and messages. Usually she has checked in here by now.

I went back and re-read her last letter to me. She wrote, "I have over-egged my life." So shoot the messenger on that one. I made an error.

Again, tremendous explication.

Sorry about the confusion of Maine with Canada but you have to admit, there are a lot of states in the States, too many for my little brain.
I googled bothy . It si a scottish term. How could I know it? I am not even English, which may be surprising considering how well I spel. i have not heard it here in the south.
To egg somebody on means in Britain to encourage but egged out i don't know and could  not find it in Google. Could it mean to be out of eggs just wehn one wants to make an omelette? There are an awful lot of expresions involving eggs, i found some rather unsavoury.
Snookered is to do with the game oj snooker, similar to your pool but has also a different meaning in the States. This term is used here frequently for stuck or frustrated. Here is the result of my research:
bothy
ˈbɒθi/
noun
noun: bothy; plural noun: bothies; noun: bothie
  1. (in Scotland) a small hut or cottage, especially one for housing farm labourers or for use as a mountain refuge.

snooker
ˈsnuːkə/
verb
past tense: snookered; past participle: snookered
  1. subject (oneself or one's opponent) to a snooker.
"he potted yellow and green, and then snookered Davis on the brown"
    • British
leave (someone) in a difficult position; thwart.
"I managed to lose my flat keys—that was me snookered"
    • US
      trick, entice, or trap.
"they were snookered into buying books at prices that were too high"

Looks good to me. Yes, Martha might want to review:

- bothy

- snookered or "in the snooker" she might have said

- egged out (not on)

I thought "bothy" could be boathouse. Martha suggests LeBecca is Canadian. No, she visits the state of Maine in the USA, which is near Canada. But I never heard any Canadian talking about being egged out to get snookered in the bothy.

Rebecca usually checks in by now. Don't know where she is.

Comment by DKeys on July 26, 2015 at 2:56pm

egged on means being goated   i thought the bothy was something like a shed but she has her mail art hanging in it so maybe it just means a cool sounding shack as seen through mysterious mist. Snookered means bamboozled right? or getting drunk? or falling in love with Snooky? Marthan is the official language of Dkult, but I think Rebeccan has become a dialect

Comment by De Villo Sloan on July 26, 2015 at 2:24pm

DK, I don't remember clearly. I think Rebecca said a "bothy" was some kind of tool shed or chicken shack. Does anyone from Britain or Scotland recognize that?

She also wrote of someone being in or going to the "snooker," I think. I might have that confused w/Angie Cope's dog.

She wrote to me about being "egged out" recently. I am just not familiar w. these expressions.

Comment by DKeys on July 26, 2015 at 1:46pm

wait--Bothy isn't a know english term? I guess Rebecca really has made up her own language! she said it was like a remote boathouse or something? can't exactly remember.  Martha, sorry you had a persecution nightmare--us Dkulters are no stranger to persecution that's for sure but we sludge on

PS; i got in my database 70 mail artists in Britain with which at one time or another I was in contact, but as I said I have lost track now of most of them, I should search IUOMA to try and find them.
