Now that I look again, those black rings look more like fiber than ink. Are they?

I agree about the black being a good friend! It always seems to sparkle up a piece of art or deepen it. I love to see good contrast in collage art.  --Linda

I hadn't really thought about the smoke rings, Linda! (Actually, I don't think too much about what I do, but work fairly organically, just adding things that "look right.") I suspect my eye would like the black circles "echoing" the black frames. Black really is a good friend in collage!

I see. Black ink 'smoke rings,' and the translucent paper at top center does look like smoke. Is that a segment of an American map? Can you tell me more about this? --Linda
