i think anything with those plastic bubbles filled with trash is a trashbubble.

The ongoing adventure of Tubby the Tub.  Maybe a RR selfie?

Diane, I knew I should do something special with Tubby after you asked about her when I didn't post that I had gotten her in the mail after a few days. I'll try to take some more photos so you can add to the album as time goes on. It was great fun!

Burning question carried over from yesterday. Can this piece by Rebecca Guyver be considered a Trashbubble? No big deal, except now I'm wondering what a Trashbubble is.

I wish I could post the whole book, but I had sent Holly Cooper this little porcelain bathtub that I had had for years. I knew it was meant for her after having fun with the Restroom News/Selfies Threads. In return, she turned it into an entire photo book  of the Adventures of Tubby the Tub!!  pure genius. and at the back of the book is this little secret compartment that was full of trash--sewing related. thank you Holly! your creativity is amazing. and the braille typewriter? how cool!!

Best Found Object Ever! and NO, I did not touch this!!!!

Thank you all; I guess I needed reassurance, Diane. Be sure, DVS, that I will never ever buy something to make trashpo with, far too mean! And I agree with your views on the environmental impact of such an action. Dan, i was not an archaelogist but my art school disertation was on the iconography of Andean cultures. It was facinating although my 'digging' was only in books and South American museums. i understand your reaction and now  I also do not pick things up so much, but the reason is that here there is always the danger of getting stabbed by a dirty needle.

I second Dan's view that "using one's own trash is quite acceptable."

For instance, sending people collage scraps & studio debris has become a Trashpo tradition; it's recycling too.

I second DK's view that "there are no rules" with Trashpo & her comments on what constitutes found material & trash.

I've never been able to explain my objection to "representational Trashpo." If you bought a cereal box & dumped the contents because you just needed that brand to make Trashpo, I call that "representational Trashpo." It's wasteful. RR Nevermind brought the importance of recycling to Trashpo.

The discussions have some more info about what is trashpo? and what constitutes 'found' but there are no rules. if you intend something to be trashpo, then it is. I think found trash and trashpo can be loosely defined as using anything discarded, unwanted, cast off given a second life. Dan--did I miss this? where is this trashbook posted?  nice find BG--I will use that as my motto today, "Tiger On".

Martha, using one's own trash is quite acceptible. I find going hunting for trash, looking for rare artifacts of goodness on the ground, is just tio painfully like my former profession as an archaeologist. Once retired, I finally broke the lifelong habit of staring at every tiny shiny object lying about near my feet. Now I am no trashpo guru, but I have had some mild success making mail art with gleanings from an old box of my youthful writings, with miscellaneous life ephemera from various junk drawers in my house, and, most reecently, I made a trashbook for David Stafford entirerly out of gleanings from the trash can in my studio. I think that made a right nice boekie, and it allowed me a few moree days before having to carry my rubbish to the outside recycling bin.
