A I S, Jon, Jude, Nadine: Your Love Bombs Have Landed

Wasn't it Gertrude Stein who said: "An artist in Seine lives mainly on the Plein"? Maybe not. Anyway, here is our Paris correspondent's latest offering. The caption reads "The Vallée-Francaise seen from Col. Saint-Pierre." That's Col. St. Pierre in the foreground though he may need to turn to see the best view of the Vallée. Thank you, Dean.

Most of the package of stuff that Jon Foster recently sent me went back out into the sea of mail art, including an add and pass with Sir Richard Canard, however....I wanted to acknowledge the package as well as Jon's zest (I'm trying to revive this word) for the mail art life. I know most of you have been touched by Jon's multi-media approach to the mail art scene. The Nostrils, Jon's band, is still in heavy rotation on our iTunes with Little Feat, Morphine et al. The other day Patti was playing off the iPad and a Nostrils' tune followed a Victoria de Los Angeles aria from La Boheme. That was an industrial strength palate cleansing moment that we savored and will remember. Thank you, Jon.

I've gotten a lot of mail art lately from Jude Weirmeir who is a busy, busy guy. His John Cage-like (I'm betting he hates that comparison) compositions are etudes with instructions. You can perform them in the privacy of your own home. My favorite is Opus 94: "Serialize Your Life" with an elegant chart for reordering your life more creatively. Because I'm not good with puzzles I'm afraid I hit the "Goto Bed" square four times in a row. Which wasn't the worst thing that could have happened. Thank you, Jude.

Nadine, my correspondent in La Crescenta has sent me another package of vital materials that will probably need to be analyzed by the Univac before I make bold statements about them. Suffice it to say, she covers the waterfront.

Thank you, Nadine. See you in the mailbox. (And on FB).

Thank you all again.
