Another one of Meeah amazing envelopes arrived last week. I love these desert prophets with hair courtesy of the postal cancellation. (Nice cloakage too. I'm tellin' ya Meeah, ya gotta start doing some fabric design with your creatures.)  Meeah's envelopes are among the finest in the land but this one was filled with stuff too. As in...

A fiery chapbook ripped from today's headlines (Always wanted to use that phrase). And I concur: It's way past time to say BOOM. But wait...there's more....

Now just to be abundantly clear...the center column here about Barbara the Armless Rocker is something I made but one of the quotes from Meeah's piece reminded me of it and I thought I'd include it for symmetry and also to improve my brand which has taken a few hits in recent days. The latest Radiogram from Marie. Hollywood has approached me about a Radiogram Theater style viral youtube, "Serial" type of thing. Clearly the idea is still congealing but uh...well, let's just say they're interested to the tune of some serious coinage (for artists) Right around the $50 mark but that's not the ceiling...and we're still talking with lawyers and sech. Watch this space for details.

 It occurs to me that an enterprising lad or laddette (hmmm) could make a heap o' dough if they had a Mail Art Call based on illustrating texts provided by Marie's Radiogram series. Possible boekie/movie deal as well. We could put a crack team together like that! (insert muffled finger snap sound here) In fact, look! I've already done one....imagine that...

Now I really feel as though I have inserted myself into the frame a bit too much. There's nothing for it except to sigh off gracefully.

But before that....I received a card, not mail art from Kim JungYoun. I think I can safely say that it will be the only Chinese New Year Card we get this year. (We note here that Kim is Korean or perhaps I should say, lives in Korea). At any rate, what Kim does not know is that Patti sends out Chinese New Year cards every year as well. For the last two years she's made silk screens of the animal of the year which this year happens to be the

For those of you who are not fluent as I am in the various languages displayed above, the animal for 2016 is peach blossoms which I don't quite get because I thought they were always animals but...there you have it. Thank you, Kim, et al. And thanks to dear reader for self-indulgent branding behaviors of which I am punished by having to let the cat head out. Out damned cat head.

...which just made me look this up... "The phrase 'nosy parker' dates from the end of the 19th century. The popular Victorian novelist Mary Elizabeth Braddon edited theBelgravia Magazine at that time and 'nosey parker' appeared there in the May 1890 edition, which seems to be the first example of the phrase's use in print:

More shenanigans in the post... the fabulous ephemera package has arrived, but in a Royal Mail plastic bag. Apparently it had split open at some point along the way, but the contents in all their generous abundance seem to beintact. Thanks big time :>)
