Rinee, this is the last but probably not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on June 6 I was unable to welcome you on board.  At the time I was in a celestial journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end when you decide it’s the right time to start trading snail mail art. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

The Celestial Scribe

Terrene Embassy

The Celestial Republik van Patland

Caixa Postal 24827

Curitiba-PR

80510-970

Brazil

II look forward to see a piece of yours in my terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving yours. This is a celestial promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland official envelope provider.

MomKat is crossed-eyed and is a stray...one of many, many, many under my balcony.

She is always having kittens...thus we call her MomKat :-)

The big cats are her daughters, granddaughters, etc:

(My name here, too)

Thanks for the praise for my Aboriginal-type art. I'm now working on a series of masks for an Exhibition. They are loosely based on African tribal masks, and you can see the first 10 or so of them in My Photos.

Bonjour!

There are 2 Cat Groups:

i) Group for Cat Lovers (started by me, but now run by MomKat - Katerina Nikoltsou)

ii) Cat Lovers' Mail Art (run by Valerie D Evangelista)

Do join either -- or both!

It doesn't matter what you post -- the inside or outside of things, or both; envelopes, arti-stamps; postcards or any bits and pieces. Basically, just post anything that you like.

In fact, in IUOMA just do anything you like -- within reason!

You can address me as Your Majesty, The Mad Man from Sigean, El Magnifico, (you see I don't have any real ego problems)... anything you like (again -- within reason)...or just Val Herman.

Regards, His Majesty...etc Val

Are you a Cat Person? There are 2 Cat groups that you might want to join.

Here are my cats -- Bianca (the black one) & Trouble, plus as a Bonus Picture, Trouble inspecting one of my paintings.

Dear Rinee ,

Welcome to IUOMA!

It's a great bunch of folks and I hope that you enjoy exchanging Mail Art with us. I'm your Mentor, and if I can help to ease you into IUOMA in any way, then please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to explain what's going on and how IUOMA works.

If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a look at the 'New to IOUMA' page (4th from the left at the top of the IUOMA home page) where you'll find a 10-point Introductory Guide that should give you an insight as to what is going on.

Would you like to exchange some Mail Art with me? If so, send me something to 1 Rue de la Vieille Fontaine, F-11130 Sigean, France, and I PROMISE to send you something back.

However, if you want to get any snail Mail Art back in the post from me and  the rest of the Gang, you'll have to provide us all with your postal address.

Hoping you enjoy your IUOMA days.

Regards, Val Herman
