Celestial beings tend to be sharp when timming is the issue, like this time.  Friends tend to bring healing breezes when someone is in need of them, like this time.  Have merry and happy everything this year end.  Christmas, New Year and  surgery recovery are certainly included.  :-))))))

Hi Christine,

Thanks for The Mountain Top Sunset view which made me write a poem around it in Dutch:

SUNSET VIEW FROM A MOUNTAIN TOP

Gelaagd is het zicht van de berg

wanneer

het lichtgewicht van de tijdskus

de zwaarte overwonnen heeft

van gestolde wonden

in helende stenen.

Kleuren reiken naar het wit

slapend in de heuvels

van een landschap

dat haar lichaam roept

in dichte stilte.

Maybe some day I’ll make an English translation

Thanks Christine, I'll see if I can find some empty arty slides and send them to you....and then you can join the  Arty Slides International GroupI'm glad that you like them -- they are good fun to work with, and I've even organised a couple of arty slide exhibitions. You might be interested in the Slide Art section of my web-site www.val-herman-art.eu, especailly the Description part where it chronicles my small art history. I've also tried to do things with floppy discs and vinyl 45 rpm records and you can see bits'n'pieces of those in the Assrmblages/Works part of my web-site. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, and join me in celebrtaing the National Holiday of Monaco today. Bestest, Val

Bonjour Christine! That's the best Valentine's Day card I've received for a long, long time: thankyou/merci beaucoup!

And how clever of you to turn the fork into a little person, a French one at that by the Eiffel Tower.

Also thanks for the Xmas/New Year greetings -- same to you, and I hope that you have a Happy Easter, too.

The autumn leaf is really colourful. I'm going to put some plastic around it, and use it as a book mark.

Will be sending you something back soon.

Thanks again & regards, Val

You did your job excellently.  The Philadelphia-Curitiba gap has been bridged.  It´s time for me to keep my promise.  I´ll keep you posted.  Give my best regards to Claudia McGill if you see her.

Bonjour Christine! Glad you liked the envelope and it's contents. Just to think that a chip fork from Maastricht in the Netherlands has gotten safely to you, and will most proably be passed on to someone else: what an exciting life a chip fork has (sometimes)! Nope, I didn't go to the jazz concert -- I only do rock'n'roll, and yesterday was the 50 anniversary of you know who releasing you know what (or do you?).. Autumn is here, but it's still quite mild (22° forecast for today), and Oranje and I usually go to the beach. Bon weekend, Val

Bonjour!

Paint swatches sounds good. I once got a booklet of fake hair that had been died all sorts of colours to advertise/promote...er, hair dyes. They wxere in swatches too, and I added them to various things.

If you go to my vast, sprawling and totally out of control web-site, www.val-herman-art.eu, then look at Assemblages, then look at Works, about half way thropugh the list you'll seesomething called 'Lady Diane...etc'. There are some hair swatches in that.

Bianca and I are supposed to be doing some painting, but she has too much of the desk, so I'm computing instead.

Au revoir to you and Monsieur Clifford, Val

Bonjour Christine!

I just received your incredible compact disc creation, for which many thanks, no, as it contains an Eiffel Tower image, then I can say this in French: merci beaucoup. It's very nice.

Was interested to hear that you enjoyed Claudia's class: I wonder how many of the 2500 or so IUOMA members have ever sat in, let alone given, any sort of Mail Art class? Not too many, I would guess.

I'll be mailing you something back in the next few days -- predominantly Dutch in content, rather than French, as I have just been in Holland for a few days.

Meanwhile my cats, Bianca and Clifford, send my best wishes to Clifford, as I do to you.

Regard, Val
