Hello Mars Tokyo! Love the name change story. Sorry I missed welcoming you when you joined (I'm mentor for July and August) but WELCOME now. And, I received your Mail Art. Very cool - I love stamps, of course. Was that cut from a display board? And it included the stamp from my home state (Illinois) and Honest Abe (more Illinois) and Shakespeare (stage managed a production of Hamlet and have loved the Bard ever since) - such synchronicity. Isn't it lovely that Mail Art isn't dead? That it's alive and well! See you in your mail box!

Hi Mars Tokyo! What a small, small world in which we live. Thanks for the welcome and perhaps we can exchange mail art? I hopped over to your website...um...would it be too intrusive to inquire as to what or who "free pussy riot" is?? LOL! Here is my address...I just saw yours so I have it and will get some art out to you this week.

Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on June 24 I was unable to welcome you on board.  At the time I was in a celestial journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end when you decide it’s the right time to start trading snail mail art. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

The Celestial Scribe

Terrene Embassy

The Celestial Republik van Patland

Caixa Postal 24827

Curitiba-PR

80510-970

Brazil

II look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving yours. This is a celestial promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland official envelope provider.

Your link didn't work on my iPad, but I went to their site and the show looks great. I think Evil Omen is my favorite. Congratulations!

Dear Mars Tokyo,

(What's behind that name, I wonder? Do tell!)

Welcome to IUOMA!

It's a great bunch of folks and I hope that you enjoy exchanging Mail Art with us. I'm your Mentor, and if I can help to ease you into IUOMA in any way, then please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to explain what's going on and how IUOMA works.

If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a look at the 'New to IOUMA' page (4th from the left at the top of the IUOMA home page) where you'll find a 10-point Introductory Guide that should give you an insight as to what is going on.

Would you like to exchange some Mail Art with me? If so, send me something to 1 Rue de la Vieille Fontaine, F-11130 Sigean, France, and I PROMISE to send you something back.

Hoping you enjoy your IUOMA days.

Here is a Health & Safety Warning: IUOMA and Mail Art can be seriously addictive.

Proceed at your own risk!

Regards,

Val Herman
