Hi Carolyn. Today I received your "Asian Influence" Deco from Martine Latrille. I love working on these, and I will add my bit and send it on soon.

Hey Carolyn, glad to hear the the A&P made it over the hill to you. But... it's not an "artistamp A&P," it just an A&P. Pick a page and knock yourself out.  :^)

Have lotsa fun,

Yes Carolyn - I think it's great that so many people are into these DECO Books. Whenever I get caught up, I don't stay that way for long!

Dear Carolyn, I am glad that the envelope arrived unharmed! Sorry that you had so much to do to get the card out of it! I thought the folio rather interesting and I have quite a lot of these transparent images, because I used them with a overhead projector to show my students.

The little black flecks are also a drawing from Seurat, just a sketch, done with charcoal on Ingrespaper, that's how it gets so freckled. I really love these drawings! What about your mixes media experiences? Did you enjoy it?

Wish you all the best

Hi Carolyn, your letter arrived just yesterday with this wonderful and amazing card in it! Really spectacular! I had the vision of very small mice making very small holes in the paper with even smaller teeth! It looks great! Weather is still warm and nuts, and a lot of other things you think of in autumn are already ripe and fall down!

I will think about something nice for a new card vor you!

Many warm hugs from hot Germany! Charlotte

Hi Carolyn,

thanks for your long and so very nice letter! I will answer you as soon as the envelope arrives here in Göttingen! At the moment all parts of Germany suffer under too hot weather without rain for weeks, so in our apartment we feel like being in a tropic house of the Zoo! You could have nice little crocodiles in the bathroom; they would grow wonderfully I think!

But next week school is starting again, and I don't know how the kids will work under this temperatures! So the chaos starts next week, with all things starting again and everyone will be wanting something immediately and, and and...

I have heard of the great fires in California and we were near fires in France in Greece and  thats really terrible; everything black and white with the ashes and the earth often still warm and nothings left.

So stay cool the next week when you can take part in the mixed media class and enjoy it!

I came full of ideas back from my holidays in France, but work comes first, so the ideas have just to wait a little bit!

Many hugs and thanks for your friendship and your interesting letters!

Hi Carolyn,

Mail headed out to you today!

Those orange postcards are created on bright orange card stock and then the media used is gesso mixed with Faber Castel gelatos plus some stencils, collage elements and drawing pen.  Then the whole thing is sealed with a triple thick high gloss acrylic glaze to make it water resistant for mailing through the post without an envelope.  I mostly make post-cards rather than things needing envelopes.  I have to be powerfully motivated by an idea that requires an envelope to be fully actualized.  One time I did a mail art project based on the theme of "memory" and I created envelopes that were drawings of brains with the memories inside for example :-)

Hi!  Thanks for the extra special blog on my class photo envelope.  I was touched by your personal note to me about it so thank you for sharing.  You were an adorable little girl if you  looked anything like the one you point out.  I am in Eugene OR this weekend, hanging out with Toni Hanner a bit.  I am here to see the Dead perform tonight!  Cheers Carolyn.
