I love hearing your memories of joya no kane. Ringing the temple bell was my favorite "job" at the monastery, though really chilly in the middle of winter when I had to ring it at 4 am.

I was able to get the photo of the lost postcard, thank you very much. I was getting pretty minimal there at the end! But I do enjoy the colors.

Happy happy new year to you. I'm certainly not staring right into another 365 straight days, but may still come up with something to do every single day---I've loved the structure of that.

Glad you like it Yayoi. I got back from Evanston IL Weds and landed in the ER Thursday with dehydration from viral gastroenteritis caught I guess on the trip. Yuk.  I'm determined to get the remaining 4 pieces of mail-art in a box by tomorrow, even if it is Sunday, and won't go out till Tuesday! What a ride.

Wishing all the best to you in 2018, and many delightful mail exchanges! Every year a local group I lead holds a bell-ringing ceremony to ring in the new year, along the lines of joya no kane, except everyone brings bells of all varieties. We sit in a circle and ring the bells one at a time till it fades away, then the next one, up to 108. I love it, and think I'm well enough to be there again leading it this year.

Hi Yayoi, thanks for the message! I am always happy if the cards arrive unharmed at the other end of the world, even this time it seems to have lost some green circles that I glued to the card, but that doesn't matter that much! I am thrilled to find something from in my mailbox!

Best wishes! Charlotte

How nice. Result of my exchange with the CARTA OBRA project. This year I prepared a postcard art hall here in Visconde de Mauá. Next year has more, we are already receiving the works. Welcome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqU5h8lOnmA&t=1s

Hi Yayoi, thanks for your friendship! I would love to exchange mailart with you and will send a card soon! Perhaps it will take a bit of time, because I am writing from a small old town in the middle of Germany, but look out!

Best wishes Charlotte

Hi Yayoi--

I like your profile picture!  May I send you an "add and pass" that originated with artist Ed Giecek?  If you're too busy or have "mail art overload" I totally understand.

Best wishes,

Li Araki
