Thanks so much for the mail art! Is it ok or not ok to continue the art communication by adding to your piece and then mail it back to you? If you wanted, you could continue the conversation by adding something else and resending it back to me, or not?
(I did this on the previous piece of mail art that you had sent me.)
No problem - we handle estate sales so a lot of what the uninformed refer to as "trash" or "junk" is really junque and so tons come across my desk - so to speak. I also do 3D so along with the paper i have tons of that stuff too. buttons, keys, broken metal things etc. see you!
Thanks! Blue (?) arrived today - love it! Is there anything you look for or collect? Is so, let me know, I come across a LOT of stuff and happy to share.
Hi Jon! I spent 10 days in the UK where my aged mother is very seriously ill, hence the British card from French (adopted) VMH. Ive been sorting through the stamps you kindly sent me. Highlights are: 3 stamp booklets that must be quite old, because the 1st class postage rates were only 4 and 6 cents (how much is it now?); an unfranked British Wilding stamp circa 1965; a US Special Delivery 30 cent stamp; and some interesting Polish ones from the Soviet-era days. Merci beaucoup!
We've talked before about sending out mail, and not receiving much back. I did two unsolicited mailings to some of my IUOMA Friends that i had not previously had contact , in mid-January. I mailed out 15 pieces, and guess how many I have got back so far? Just one! That's very disappointing. Now if I get a 'New Friend' request I always ask if they want to exchange Mail. If they don't, I'm still willing to be Friends, but not waste time, art and postage on them.
What this tends to mean is that I have a 'hard core' of Friends, like you, with whom I exchange pieces with on a regular basis. A 'soft core' of friends for irregular, occasional and unpredicctable exchanges. And, well, 'others' , some of whose work I follow on the site.
That's enough for now as Saturday's doemstic tasks call, alas.
What a great packet arrive today, Jon. Many, many thanks! That's a lot of stamps, but I shall admire each and every one...some look old and rare. And the series of stamps from Cyprus are VERY special...dated 1967, before they divided the island. thank you xxx
