good thing i use google! ;-D

on your way is an add & pass journal.

rules: keep it for 2 weeks, adding whatever you like.

it was my school notebook for the first month or two of spring semester,

when i took creative writing and drawing (before dropping the art class

due to personality clash with my teacher)

also is a bunch of printed poetry / prosaic stuff you may or may not want to read.

after two weeks, send it to someone else OR give it to someone you know!

and that's all you need to know about that!

Dear PostMuse, Your account seems to have been compromised in the same way mine was. About 10 days ago my Yahoo account was hacked, all my contact names were stolen and then the names were deleted. All my contacts then received 2 emails: one saying that I had been mugged in 'London UK' (as opposed to London, Ontario?), that my wallet, credit cards etc had been stolen, and that people should send €1750 to a Western Union account. The second purportedly came from the local (Hounslow) Police saying that the crime had been reported and was being investigated: this was a fake as a a simple check on the email address used established.

A friend 'investigated' the first of these, spoke to the fraudster (Sam the Scammer aka Scam the Scum) and got his name, address, and phone no. I spoke, or rather abused, him a number of times. I passed on his name etc to the police and asked them to investigate this. About 5 days later they told me that they couldn't as the supposed crime had not originated in their 'patch' -- and, of course they assured me in corporate speak that they were doing everything possible to safeguard the streets etc of London for their citizens. Except, that is, for investigating fraudsters.

One of my banks received the scam letters and automatically stopped my credit cards: I'm still awaiting new ones, but no fraudulent activity seems to have occured card-wise, thank goodness.

My Yahoo account still seems to be a bit funny (I think some of my messages have gone to Sam the Scum) but seems to be more or less OK.

Like you, I am EXTREMELY careful about what I do on the internet -- so careful in fact that I do as little as possible. Like you, I have no idea at all how this happened.

I thought that I would share this with you, and hope that things will be alright at your end.

Regards, Val

PS: if you want to, you can, of course, send me money (lots of, please!): you'll find my address in IUOMA
