I read your last comment, a hope for all to find lots of green, so I came here to your page and read "Why I am involved in Mail-Art." Looking back at your page, it looks like you have been sending and receiving mailart. If you just look at member's pages or at the photo gallery, you will find artists who will love to exchange mailart. You are so very right, Maude; this is mostly about an exchange of ideas and art, peacefully getting from place to place. Welcome to IUOMA. I hope you have many happy exchanges of mailart.      --Linda

Maude, you say Matisse. Matisse. Matisse.
I say Miro. Miro. Miro.
Let's call the whole thing off.

You say either and I say either,
You say neither and I say neither
Either, either Neither, neither
Let's call the whole thing off.

You like potato and I like potahto
You like tomato and I like tomahto
Potato, potahto, Tomato, tomahto.
Let's call the whole thing off...

Such as lovely welcome! Thank you.

It's this little (BIG) hippo I believe you are referring: http://tinyurl.com/little-BIG-hippo ... and yes, a gentle reminder of simple sweet things.

I'm new to this domain, just learning the ropes -- I don't mean to miss your messaging, Maude, as you write: "As I move around this place admiring the art that little hippo is just dear. Just the cutest little hippo gentle reminder of simple sweet things."

Such as lovely welcome! Thank you.

Earthling, this is the last but certainly not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on january 21 I was unable to welcome you on board.  At the time I was in a Celestial Journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

The Celestial Scribe

Terrene Embassy

Republik van Patland

Caixa Postal 24827

Curitiba-PR

80510-970

Brazil

I look forward to see a piece of yours in our terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.

Hi, for IUOMA members, we are the owners of an art gallery in Marseille, France, and organizing a Mail Art exhibit ''not for sale'' from June 3 to 30, 2014. The theme is: "Mermaids in the port, queens of the sea..." We invite you to participate and send an artist's letter. Free technique. On a postcard or any other object of your choice. Illustration, address and stamp on the same page. Deadline for hanging: May 10, 2014.   Send a work in mail format as original as possible. Send to: JC SARPI -  LE LAB 3 rue Bussy l'indien 13006    Marseille France
.We will answer each mail by sending Mail Art. Looking forward to presenting your works.  Thank you for giving the information to all the persons who may participate to the project. Look at http://lelab13006.blogspot.fr

Hello Maude, send out a note to members by going to your IN BOX (in the right column on your page) then click on compose. After you write your note, you can invite members of IUOMA to send to you. Oh, maybe you already did that.

See you in the mail. Mim

Hello Maude, I'm the mentor for January and can help you with questions not answered in New to IUOMA or the group Ask Anything. Lots of info there. You can draw or make collage (which is what I do) or watercolor (which I also do) or anything you can think of. Some people send objects, even.  Have fun, send out mail.
