Iowa City houses at least one outstandingly innovative citizen in my view. This very nice and friendly person has sent me the second of yesterday's (03/16/13) three mail art gems:
What about all these beautiful stamps. Are they "official"? They have not been cancelled, and the sticker tells me how much the postage was and when it had been posted.
NO VALUE! I can't agree with that and soon you'll know why:
JA!! That's it! My first ever Golden Disc. Actually it's a DVD showing the opening of something I had sent Alicia a while ago:
So much for that. Nothing but no value items. Of some worth only for kids, and that is beautifully proved in the video. Alicias granddaughter gives her comment loud & proud babbling "dada, dada, dada etc." continuously. How great that is! Because in the very beginning of DADA, almost 100 years ago, of of the word's definition was baby babble. Oh, Alicia! I wish I could post it here at IUOMA, and I shall try.
There was more in the package, of course:
A folded card (outside) and...
...inside. Is that you, Alicia? I recognize Ray Johnson too but who's in the middle? Looks like Leo castelli to me:

I received this photograph of Andy Warhol from Alicia too:

Comment by Alicia Starr on March 17, 2013 at 9:11pm Erni, good call, that is Leo Castilli in the center. Would love to know the names of all those in the photo you posted. The stamps are US postage stamps called foreverver stamps. They don't lose their value even if postage rates go up. Erniness, we all know the meaning of that.
