Marie's work does not always lend itself to the scanner and this piece is particularly delicate. It's like trying to scan a dragon fly in flight. I'm speaking of the upper left quadrant here. It's a primitive kaleidoscope with images pasted on different layers of transparent film that you rotate. It's what they used before lenses came into view. Sorry if my scan makes it look like a squashed bug. The little boekie / amulet beneath it registers perfectly however. "The Fifth Face of Dave" refers to something I posted on my Facebook and Flicker page a few weeks back.

Marie's amulet contains my fifth face (a mirror). Very sweet. But there's more. In the upper right quadrant a cool, complex concrete poem. It's all about love. For some reason I thought it might make an interesting pattern for a dress so that's what that is on the far right up there. And then I thought...Well, if Marie is a hidden textile designer then so is Suus. Check it out....

Thanks, Marie and Suus....

DVS, I think so....it's quite amazing regardless...Rebecca, of course. Where in in the world is Jen Staggs? Inquiring minds....

Did Marie actually make that red/white vispo? A departure for her. "Four Faces of Dave" is already a classic.

'Like what you did with the "dress designs", David! Where is Jen Stagg to see this?

Beautiful idea from Marie...especially the mirror! Wow!
