The real Front Door Gallery, where Mail Art gets really seen

The artwork I have received from January this year to July and shown on the door is now in an ebook in

If you click on Share under the book you can download the original pdf as usual .

I decided to close the Gallery because it takes too much of my time and I cannot cope, my creative work and the artwork I send you, suffers. It is a pity ; it was good and fun but I would need to hire staff to go on running it !  And you know how difficult that is these days…

I shall go on sending snail mail and email art and responding to projects, although may be not joining too many groups. When on holiday recently in a flat without Wi-Fi I discover there is life beyond it and I am going in search of it.

This is a photo of the door from the road but I forgot to take one from the inside to show the back of the artwork, but it is all there for sure.

Thank you everybody for so much superb art work including bookies and zines. Now the fun begings for me, I am painting and printing, cutting and sticking and making up all those envelopes to send to you. They should not take too long to reach you.

May you all have a great summer, or winter, depending on your whereabouts!

Katerina those are great photos thank you!

Yes today I had a good creative morning and enjoyed myself no end, drawing skulls, no less, for a  non IUOMA mail artist who asked for a Vanitas. So as a well known politician used to say Back to basics!

I am not against the creation of email art, either entirely made in the computer or scanned, what I am trying to do is simplify the process.

For instance this blog, it takes half an hour to navigate through it. Blogs are terrible dumps, black holes where the artwork disappears. I love the eBooks instead, it is all there visible. I shall refine them with numbered pages and an index when it is all done.

Discusion at the London meet up was about "getting back to the basics"....

taking more time for making mail art, sending in the ol' "via snail mail",

just enjoying the exchange at a sloooow pace :-)

In the Royal Mail postbox:

(eh, MomKat will still be blogging...but perhaps more time spent "making")

Sorry to hear the computer is having side effects.

Thanks for the link to the ebook - very professional looking, and I love seeing all the great mail on the front door. And a lovely surprise to see my book on the table.

Also, great to see you in action at the Tate Britain Mail Art Meet Up.

Thanks Katerina, I hope your Peeps have arrived as you get home. I have been photographing them as it was a glorious day, not often the case here. It is not easy I will have to use a macro they are so small.
