INTERNATIONAL MAIL ART EXHIBITION - "SEA-FIRE-HUMAN" IN ATHENS - GREECE

INTERNATIONAL MAIL ART EXHIBITION at the 19th ATHENS HIGH SCHOOL!?!?

Mellifera NPO organizes for the fifth consecutive year International Mail Art Exhibition on the subject of dissemination of arts, human communication and freedom of expression:

SEA-FIRE-HUMAN / SEA-FIRE-HUMAN

- 3 operative but also deadly elements -

More than 230 artists from 36 countries around the world share their thoughts on the subject, create and interact with the viewer.

Mellifera boldly selects this time as the venue to host the mail art exhibition, at a school.

A school with children of many nationalities, as the ideal venue to host an International Exhibition, with the whole network of communication-ideas and messages that surrounds and carries. So it becomes clear that the school is not just a place for education but can be transformed into a space combining knowledge with art, mind with emotion, logic with imagination, in a world that needs it more than ever.

Combining the SEA with the Athenians' life and the transport of the Parthenon's sculptures to England, FIRE as one of the elements that played an important role in both the creation and destruction of the Temple and HUMAN as the most important factor in the conception and of his amputation, school pupils create and exhibit in parallel a report on the return of the sculptures to Greece.

Mail art, a global movement that has been active since the 1960s, is based on the interconnection of artists through art and is of a charitable nature.

Opens Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 19:30

On the day of the inauguration, Wednesday, October 16, 2019, Russian mail artist Mr. Juri Gik will make a presentation about mail art at 20:30, while Japanese artist and prominent expressor of the movement, Mr. Ryosuke Cohen will also attend between others.
