ERNI BÄR FAN ACTION MINNEAPOLIS 2013

Many people here at IUOMA had received mysterious postcards from Grigori Antonin depicting certain stages of his recent Minneapolis action (Aktionskunst - Wikipedia doesn't give us an English definition. Why I dunno. Therefore a link to some pictures of Aktionskunst, action art, that paved the way for performance and happening: http://www.google.de/search?q=aktionskunst&hl=de&tbm=isch&a...). I hadn't got any of those cards myself but yesterday (March 16th, 2013) I found this among the two other mail art gems in my letterbox:

Solidly wrapped and of some weight. Even German customs couldn't resist putting their green sticker on announcing this had not to be examined.

HUCH! What does this indicate now? Will there follow a Californian Aktion? I'd be more'n delighted, Grigori! Open! Open and let's have a look at this mail art crown jewel, folks. I'll show you every bit of it and shall abstain from further commenting because the contents speaks for itself:

21 cm x 20, 5 cm x 0,12 cm / 250 grams / hardcover / bound.

What a HIT! The only way to deal with mail art like this is:

Ganz besonders herzlichen Dank, Grigori!

Right you are, Angie. A genuine "Aktion" (German for action) in the sense my art hero # three, Joseph Beuys, used the term. He was a master of that special art form but Grigori doesn't have to hide with what he did - NOT AT ALL! Plug in

Oh wow!

I wonder whether that's the one Grigori used himself during his Fan Club Aktion.

You didn't receive any of those cards, Mary? Send something to Grigori first, I'd suggest. This one he used to send out in 2012:

Yes Mim. It looks as if the photos were printed on very fine silk. The yellowishness (cobalt yellow?) gives them a certain mystical abstraction in my view.

That is a wonderful book! What a gift.
