That is what Cheryl calls this splendid book, a book "sort of about current things, and things a little past":

Asemic palette, the bridge, transgressing the page, needle girls, ghost in my alphabet, authentic massacre of the innocent image--these represent parts of just some of the images and Cheryl projects that appear in this book. It's a very rich medley, beautiful at every turn, and of course filled with the mysterious word-pictures that always accompany her visionary stories. At one point, toward the end, she says "No Words Are Black and White," a truth her books seem to make even more true. Is that possible? This gallimaufry is loved to pieces--thank you again, Cheryl.

Hi Marie! The word gallimaufry was new to me too, and the online dictionary defined it as "a confused jumble or medley of things," and then, getting more specific, said it can be "a dish made from diced or minced meat." These definitions made it tempting to say some things in the blog that others might not understand.

Very much enjoying this.

I had to look up "gallimaufry", it sounds like a fun word to pronounce. Dictionary says "hodgepodge". Oh, NOW I see! [not].

ha ha, cheryl, I definitely owe you! But I am working on it and destroying it - you are pushing the level too high for me!  :)

Much appreciated, DVS, thank you for taking note of the photos. No doubt you've seen enough of my blogs to know that this camera tends to be recalcitrant and drives me crazy. These did seem to capture enough--surprisingly enough--and I appreciate your praise of them. Especially when others will follow that won't measure up, but hey. I won't give up.
