Thank you all for your messages. I work as a designer and illustrator and often my deadlines are super tight...nice to know there's less pressure here, and to read some kind words :)

Glad I'm not the only deadbeat.  My current vexes are:

1. My old PC (kinda embarrassing for an ex-IT guy) which doesn't really have enough memory for what I ask it to do.  Scanning is like a lottery of sorts.  Sometimes I win, sometimes I perform a hard boot.  If I ever get my 3rd "stimulus check", I have vowed to replace the 10+ year old PC.

2. Not being able to find all my printmaking ink/supplies. (Linocuts owed to several folks including Carien van Hest.)

3. Boxing my handmade postcards from 2020 I know not where (Jennifer Wallace is still awaiting a comparison mailing).

4. General health, well-being of family and friends (of which I've lost 8, yes, eight!) in the past year plus my last, beloved Siamese cat, Albert (who has appeared on a Halloween postcard in years past).

The good news is that the losses are partly why I once again have two cats: one that belonged to a close friend (my Thanksgiving host until 2020) and another given to me from friends nearby.  After two months of adjustment the new cats now groom each other, play frenetically, romp through the house like a herd of horses, and generally keep me busy with the resulting chaos that young cats create.  NOTE: Cats and old-school printmaking are not good companions to each other.

I understand you very well!

I, too, have experienced a slowdown in the last five months or so, as I have to lot of housework (I have not done the latter before). In addition, more intensive professional work began in March. Ruth Giles said wise words: "Mail Art is for pleasure, not pressure!" Don't be worried about the current situation!

I am the worst dead beat mail artist this year. Just getting to the mail box feels like a mammoth undertaking. Cleaning my desk seems like climbing Everest. I think a lot of us are in a similar place. Spring has arrived and the fresh air coming in the window makes better days seem possible.

Mail Art is meant to be a pleasure, not a pressure! I'm sure we all understand that real life often gets in the way.

Take it easy!

Don't worry about that, Kimberly. I guess everyone will agree with me that lot of people on IUOMA don't reply immediately and nobody is complaining about it. I also don't answer for several weeks often. Some Mail Art friends are waiting since December/January for my reply as I am really sloooooww. Glad you got plenty of freelance work recently! That are good news, I guess. So take your time! :)
