Send out the Clowns

August 1-7  2017  International Clown Week

The Mail Art call about clowns sponsored by Cascadia Artpost and Walmarth of Retailia.

The Clown Parade

The blog closed after the parade and Cascadia Artpost has sent a printed documentation to all participants.

The Shopping Trolley Gallery

has now moved to the Great Big Cloud purely as a blog because I cannot cope with it in its real form. Now that it is only a virtual concept I am free to do more art and communication. The problem of Time is something physicists have not solved yet, so how can I hope to be able to stretch it ?

Thank you Rebecca, funny I was thinking of you and made a mental note to include you in my next posting which will be sometime in November. Until then!

HI Mail Art Martha,

I finally blogged a bit of your and Cascadia's Send out the Clowns project!  Brilliant work and thanks for such beautiful documentation! You can see the blog here:http://thepostalleger.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/coulrophobia-and-casca...

I posted my clown mail to you yesterday. Curious to know, and looking forward to  knowing, in what place the mail(wo)man will deliver my mail art :-)

(oh how I hate clowns! Fortunately I found matching circus stamps which aren't as bad as clowns are..)

Yes, Judy Collins did the song...back in the Hippies Era...

What did it mean? What does it mean?

...coming your way soon :-)

I made a video of Clown Art I found for Angie a couple weeks ago and posted on FB. You turn the clown nose and it is a music box that plays, "Send in the Clowns," a very famous song by Judy Collins

Must have been Jack's idea-so synchronistic

Thanks Katerina, I didn't know the song or is it your own poem?

"Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns..."
"Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around,
One who can't move.
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns...."
"And where are the clowns?
There ought to be clowns.
Well, maybe next year."...or next month :-)

Thank you to all for remembering me and sending your mail art to cheer up this dismal January. Today we had a hailstorm, that was kind of nice and it did not last long. You shall be getting something from me soon if you haven't got it already.
