The Queen is Dead.

No, not Queen Elizabeth; that was just a silly rumour! No, Queen Inara the Munificent of the Cluckdom of Rhydgaled left this world in november last year. She was 11 years old and had suffered three strokes over the past two years. She laid hundreds of magnificent eggs and ruled over all the citizens of Rhydgaled. She is succeeded by the Grand Duchess Shelley. The Grand Duchess will shortly be opening the postal service in the Grand Duchy of Rhydygwin. New stamps will be issued!

Keep Calm!

I've made a set of stamps that are based on the "Keep Calm" poster. Mine read "keep calm and write letters" and are in red, purple and green. Typical though. I wanted to cut them using the stamp-edged Fiskars scissors I have. But could I find them? Could I heck as like! I ended up cutting them with several pairs of other craft scissors and now my right thumb is suffering. Ah, the joys of arthritis!

Stamps!

I made my first set of stamps a few days ago. They are nothing special, just some clip art of a hen that I recoloured for each one. I was inspired by my two hens, Inara and Shelley, to create a new currency: eggs! 1be means that the stamp is worth one bantam egg. I will make higher priced stamps which will cost a bre, or a black rock egg. (Shelley being a bantam, and Inara, a black rock hen.)


I wanted to have somewhere for my stamps to have come from, so I named my "post"…
