personalized Mailart

Tiny Whisk sent me these labels that had me contemplating what adjectives I would use for my art.  I'm not introspective; my messes seem to move in mysterious ways, not always under my control.  So it was fun to consider labels: peculiar, colorful, bizarre, lost?…

Thank you Department of Alpha Nebula!  I'd return the favor, but there is no return address.  Interesting that you use Memphis TN as your mail drop

Halloween in Retropect

Well, but we didn't have any little trick or treaters this year.  But, I received such wonderful Halloween art!  I planned to post it earlier, but events of the last week confounded me.  From Kathy Barnett,  a magic mirror and coordinating  envelope. …

World Post Day is celebrated on October 9th.  It marks the anniversary of the Universal Post Union in 1874. Since it is a Friday this year, so do we have a large drunken revelry and pour champagne over out postal carriers? THrow stamps in the air to predict the future?  Burn candles in front of the post box? Leave votive candies and nuts.  There was no…

Wonderful Postcard this week!

This week brought several pounds of election junk mail/propaganda.  Poor mail carriers!  They will be the most grateful when this election is over. But among the dross were  fabulous postcards!  Thank you all!

gift for the mail carrier

For some reason, our neighborhood mail carrier delivers on foot.  Which is very hot and sweaty business, with afternoon temps in the 90's (close to 33 c) and high humidity.  When I would see him coming I would run out with a bottle of water.  But it was hit or miss.  So we rigged up a bike water bottle cage on the mail box. Freeze the water the night before,…

How fun!

Debra Mulnick sent a great envelope full of goodness, but I really want to point out the dymo tape address.  I loved dymo label makers- the sheer pleasure of squeezing the trigger and getting a letter.  The Mail call and sketch are noteworthy too.  …

Wonderful to hear letter-writer's news

I so love getting personal notes in the mail.  Today, the mail box had two surprises.  One was from my niece, who I am luring into MailArt by sending cards to her.  Her response was simple, but shows she is close to ensnared.  She responded with a simple but decorated letter.  You realize that is the gateway drug to MA.

Sabrina Schmider sent a…

She has it all

A cheerful MA from Ruth Giles.  The young lady is ready for anything.  She has it all: secrets, a donut, wine and a dog.  If I had a blue corgi, I'd be smiling too.
