Received Documentation - Faces of Jesus

Sharon Silverman sent me a very nice photocopy documenting my contributions to her most recent call. My work, upper right - I BELIEVE IN AMERICA - is part of a new series dedicated to exploring the ideas of religion and politics in the USA. It was great to see the other contributors to this call. I LOVE the LOWER LEFT multifaceted face of Jesus. Many thanks for the documentation for…

Received MA - Ptrzia Tictac

Wow - a fabulous package from German artist Ptrzia Tictac. An altered postcard with a picture of the word, "Irony" and the letter 'Y" cut out to reveal a statement by Victor Hugo. Ingenious and inspiring. A MA call for a Message In A Bottle (I have included for all). I am always impressd with detailed abd well thought out pieces. The envelope alone provides wonderful eye candy as well with banana and avocado stockers, hand stamps and other adornments. I look at each one of these as a little… Continue

Received MA - Cascadia Artpost 2.1

2nd MA received from CA. A continuation of their theme about Deepwater Horizon and the oil damage done in the Gulf. The Brown Pelican in distress is very operatic - rising up from the waters like a ghoul or monster. A very troubling work of political art. Kudos to them for keeping this environmental impact front and foremost.…

Received Art Mail - Cascadia Artpost

Am always excited to receive political MA that speaks to contemporary issues. The state of affairs here n the USA and our dependence of oil is obvious. As an outsider now living in the USA, I am often quite shocked by the difference in attitudes between Canada and the USA. Yet, we Canadians are equally dependent on fossil fuels and contribute to…

Received Art Mail - Nicholas Antoine

Received a hand inked addition to a vintage style postcard for Italian MA Nicholas Antoine. Lovely paper and ink work - but no regular mail addy - I'm always surprised when artists will contribute such beautiful work and not allow reciprocation. I emailed him and requested a regular post address and sent him a digital piece of my own art - yet I feel it lacks the permanence and beauty…

Received Art Mail - Lily Allium

Have been remiss in posting this. Was out of the country and found this incredibly intricate MA package from LA. What a treat. An oatmeal can wrapped in a paper collage complete with paper swan origami inside. A personal note completed the package.

This level of work is so inspiring. It encourages me to be more demanding in my own work and to send out MA that truly does make…
