Kerri Pullo: Sometimes I joke when things aren't funny plus more

Well nothing funny here.  This is a serious piece, and it's mine all mine!  The scan doesn't do it justice, but the frame is a glossy silver paint which brings out the 1.5 million (yes, I counted them) small ink dots.  Ad the string is the thing that brings it all together.  A delight indeed.

And it doesn't stop there, the back;…

Marie Wintzer: Rock n' scroll and the spoon without a needle

As the saying goes; "those who live by the scroll, die by the scroll".  Or is that the needle?  In this case there are no needles, but the ever present paperclip that has no purpose of being there at all.  Yes, deep meaning here of what one is and what one is suppose to do.  (Note to self: Don't write blogs before breakfast.)

An ad for one of the first color…

Cheryl H. and her Fish Net ...

No these are not Cheryl's fish net stockings!  But rather a clever idea for the fruit bags that the rest of us throw away.  It came in a clear envelope and all the cutout dots dance around when you shake it.  (Note to self: "Shake it" and "fish net stockings" should never be mentioned in the same blog.)

Thank you Cheryl, Fun & very…

Jon challenges the postal guys

Okay, Jon Foster sent one of his great tape transfer cards: "We are all here at school". The challenge comes with the backside, he just wrote "Straße 9" , that would be "road 9" - but hats off! The card made it, - maybe the postal guys already think "this looks weird, has to be for this Svenja"... Thanks Jon, it's great and funny!…

Thanks to IUOMA

So I wrote the below material on my blog and felt I needed to share it. Just a thank you to all you lovely people.

"I have to think the lovely people at IUOMA for getting me exciting about making things, no matter how stupid or trivial. Since joining that lovely group of people I’ve been overrun with ideas for projects. It started with trading postcards across the world with people that I’ll never meet, then I did that zine about China and sent it across the world, then the…

Stars, Moon & Privy - Dean Marks

A beautiful giddy astronomical work from Dean!  A work that makes me think back on the Canticle of the Sun, I sang in the junior club and my time in the Masonic Society (joke)!

Note the buttons on the green line!

Love the mysterious arrangement,…

Trashporustpomobile and more from Diane Keys

It's trashpo, and it's rustpo, and it hangs:

Opening this was like ZING--is it my birthday?--it would be hard to choose one, but this has to be…

Absolutely smashing crushed can from Katerina Nikoltsou

This is in the top of the line of the Old Orchard Beach collection:

Yes, Katerina found this elegantly and thoroughly crushed can, and stitched it to a beautiful card she arted. I was ecstatic to receive this--it's like no other and has much soul. She did…

An inside story on the fan club, art historical romance, and Elvis, from G.A., Minnesota

This is "to get you arted," and who wouldn't want to be arted?  Or *more* arted? I love more anytime, especially when it's free and art historical and romantic. This is a beautiful thing, Grigori, and are those lipstick formations we see on the face of the Haptic Werewolf? What a shock!

Here we have beauty A-N-D brains on the flip side. An Ed McMahon voice-over would be…

Barkpo from Neil Gordon

Another mail art in the thrill category--barkpo composed on corrugated cardboard by Neil:  To me this is both down + dirty and aesthetically appealing. What a combo. I forgot to ask you, Neil, and others will probably want to know, did you actually find the "stump tree work" ad along with the bark? Either way, I love it. Thank you again, Neil, and for your lovely note on the…

Innocent Image and Don't Ask

Cheryl sent me cross section of a 'massacred' larger work along with a photo of the entire piece. It is beautiful and smells deliciously of paint. Below is a piece from Svenja Wahl and she has written "Don't Ask" on the back.I can only speculate as to what she means, but it definately makes me WANT to ask. She has adhered this delicate paper to the back of some plastic-such a…

Val Herman: The master returns to beer mat art.

And there I was thinking that Val was lost for good to Arty Slides.  What a surprise to see the ole Val back on the beer mat track.  OK so we can't read what it says, but it's a great start.  Are there any non-blondes out there who can read Swedish?

And Val is coming back with a THUD…
