I am looking for those who love creating Artistamps as much as i do! This is my first attempt at creating a quarterly Artistamp zine/book dedicated only to Artistamps.  If you are interested in sending me your Artistamps send to 240 Cherita Drive, Chaska MN, 55318 All participants will receive a 8x10 bound color copy. My hope is to emulate the likes of ISCA quarterly (i am a huge fan of it and Louise Neaderland!!) Send full pages, individual stamps, any shape, size, whatever you enjoy doing!…See More

Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I'm enjoy sharing my art and having an artist/poet support network which is more important to my creativity then institutional attention, which is often more stifling then supportive. These days, mail-art is more the NORM for me then the creation of art objects or canvas paintings. I've been working more in 2-D with graphics software anyway, and that is well suited to creating small book editions and mailart multiples. My spouse, John M. Bennett, and I were able to meet Clemente Padin & other Latin American visual poets/ experimental writers in 2008 in Montevideo Uruguay, and to enjoy Paris France with Nicolas Carras and Alan Revich for a week. In 2009 we presented visual poetry in Mexico City at the X Bieniel, and again, ten years later, in 2019 we performed in a gallery space in Mexico City. We were invited back to Montevideo, UR to perform at Mundial Poetico and then to present visual poetry in a gallery and presented videos for Video Bardo event in Buenos Aires, AR. In 2011, flux fests enabled us to perform fluxus scores in Chicago (between 2011-2018 seven Chicago Fluxfests!) and in Staten Island & NYC; in Toronto Ontario 2019. During most of that time we also partook in annual Roanoke VA MAF and AfterMAF events, plus the occasional Minneapolis gigs via Musicmaster and MN Book Arts events. I've became more involved with artist stamps when I helped Ginny Lloyd to research/edit articles for a book about 30 women artistamp creators who've contributed to her artistamp archive. It is listed at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/ginnylloyd. Around the same time (end of Sept.'12) Fantagraphics released The Last Vispo (1998-2009) for which I'm one of four contributing editors. Both those editing opportunities came about because of a desire to stay active and involved with the network.

Dadabloge

Yesterday, June 21, 2018, MOBIUS posted our documentation of FluxmaZZ performance, which took place at Portage Park, Chicago, as part of Chicago Fluxfest. But also look at other posts that are being put up all during this month of June - especially look at the Dada Nurse events that happened earlier this month on Staten Island.

Scanning & Sharing Mailart here or on Facebook platform

Posted on April 16, 2018 at 5:06pm 7 Comments

I put more weight on a reply via snail mail than on any kind of online documentation by the recipient of my mailart. And I hope my mailart contacts are not offended when I do not scan and document online the mailart they send to me. I am old-school in that regard. Though occasionally I might scan & post mailart I receive, it's only done on a whim, not with any regularity.
