It's time to wind up the masquerade
Just make your mind up the piper must be paid

When I ventured into collage from fiber arts, I discovered MailArt. I was hooked on the concept of decorating envelopes and faux postage. I find it fascinating, and enjoy the "instant gratification" of this small-scale art form.

Dear Suzette,
Tonight was a smashing success!! It was covered by a journalist who believes my exhibition should be "on the road" at museums, no less. He asked when/where I planned on having my next exhibition. Thank goodness that Enid was closeby and had a long conversation with him. She enables me totally and can easily get me in museums wherever she wants because she is known and has exhibited internationally. Her sculptures and ceramics are collected by collectors around the world. I collect her work only because I worked for her for two years and refused any money because I loved working for her and I get great discounts from her. She did contact this reporter and the reporter does work at The Spec with my brother in law. The possibilities seem endless. Enid fell in love with your canvas and mermaid and walked around the room sharing this precious mailart from you to all my guests!! We packed the restaurant except for two tables which seated four people. All showed up except for five invited guests. I have to check the real number of books I sold tonight because some had already prepaid. It's very encouraging!!! Lynne will be very pleased to have this money to give to Parkinson's Research. My niece, Shelley who arrives tomorrow from Montréal for a week with her Mom will bring Lynne's books to her in Montréal. I'll give Shelley a private "screening" of my exhibition this coming Sunday afternoon.
My speech in English and French went very well because people were coming up to me asking the same questions so I was anxious to speak to the group and clarify it all. I couldn't believe how calm I was with my speech!! At least eight of my close friends from Bonaventure were there to support me plus my family and close friends. It was truly a wonderful night!!! I am glad it is over because I am physically tired and need rest. At least five people in the Gaspésie are interested in Mailart and joining iuoma. We will keep in contact through emailing each other and I'll get the info to them, i.e., iuoma. It's back to invitation only, isn't it?
