Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I like sending and receiving surprises!

Mail-art feels like sending a message in a bottle, out into the vast waves of the Post. I'm intrigued by its relative anonymity, yet intimacy. It's a way to explore, to make positive creative connections, to be free to express, experiment, and exchange. I enjoy the conversational aspect, whether or not any words are involved. And the excitement of distance and delivery. Mail-art is a worldwide network in all directions. I'm also interested in bits of mail-art history.

My favorite medium is watercolor. I'm also interested in collage, maps, script, asemic writing, diaries and journaling.

Robin Jeree joined Guido Vermeulen's group

A group devoted to the art of trees: free medium. Without trees the world would be dead and a place of disaster. With trees the world can tackle global warming. Hug a tree and you hug the earth, you hug yourself and your neighbors. Without trees, no love!Without love, no trees.A sequel to the mail art project SIGNS and STONES and TREES (of 1998).Guido Vermeulen started this group. After his death the IUOMA members keep it alive with posting photos and drawings of TREES in memory of Guido.See More

Thank you for your comment. The shapes in "Land of Olives 2012" are based on the leaves of the olive tree.  They are traditionally considered a symbol of peace. Google -- 'olive branch symbolism'. So when I read the Call for Entries back in 2012, the olive leaf as a symbol of peace came to mind, and the artwork evolved from that. The leaf form is a beautiful abstract shape as well.
