ADD & PASS - The X Files

In the Mail Art activity, there are interesting ideas that are explored, like Mail Art Calls, Collaborative Books, Visual Poetry etc, and we also have the  ADD & PASS, which are created somewhere in the world by a Mail Artist who send by mail one "object", proposing that it be changed or simply Added an Artistic Intervention by another Mail Artist, appealing that the "object" being referred back to an following artist, chosen randomly or not.The original creator Add its Address on the…See More

Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I love to send and receive mail and get to know people the old fashioned way! Decorated mail is more interesting and inspiring for everyone. I like using vintage materials of all kinds and I collect rubber stamps, old postage stamps, and old photos. I also use gel pens for designing mandalas.

Thank you Jeanne for the recent collaged postcard you mailed to me.  Please forgive my tardiness in getting back to you.  I was laying low for a couple of months. I love the vintage images you use in your artwork.  And your mandalas are excellent.  Thanks again!!  And oh, you've been blogged.

Bonjour Mme Kasten!

Thankyou...for the postage stamps. There are some very old ones in the packet -- the sort that I was collecting half a century or more ago. I'll sort them out later and put them into my old stamp collection.

Thank you also for...the Time, Time, Time postcard. Who cares that the coin and queen images do not match? Not me! The Queen's images on the later Wilding and Machin stamps do match pretty well. Queen Liz still has the Machin design on today's stamps, even though it must be 40-50 years old, so today's Liz and today's stamps also have different images.

Thank you as well for...the sort-of mandela, sort-of paisley design. It is very beautiful, and I can get lost in the intricacies and whirls and swirls of it.

Thank you last of all...for the Kansas leaves. They didn't blow away, and I have the Evidence.

So thankyou!

I'll be mailing you something back soon.

Regards, Val
